The acquisition of Express Courier International will greatly enhance the nationwide logistics provider’s service in the southeast.

HOUSTON, TX (May 11, 2022) – Lewan Logistics, a nationwide transportation and logistics service provider, announced today its acquisition of Express Courier International (ECI). ECI provides customized logistics solutions through 26 branches across eight states in the southeastern United States. As a result, they currently operate transportation logistics and transportation services for their customers. For example, they serve companies like Office Depot, McKesson, The Home Depot, and Lab Corp.

As such, this acquisition directly complements Lewan’s existing network and services, and serves as a major boost to the company’s shipping and delivery capabilities in the southeast. In addition, Lewan continues to solidify its status as one of the fastest growing logistics companies in the nation.

“Lewan is excited to bring its nationwide transportation and delivery solutions to ECI customers, and we look forward to having ECI personnel join the Lewan team,” said Lewan founder and CEO Larry Browne.

Terms of the Express Courier International acquisition were not made public.

From the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic and talks of a vaccine, the health and safety of our employees and customers have remained a top priority. We followed CDC recommendations and implemented several preventative measures throughout our organization. And today, we are proud to have remained open to serve our customers as an essential business.

As states continue with phased roll outs of the vaccine, we want to help in facilitating our employees’ ability to receive the COVID-19 shot if they so choose. In addition, we encourage all of our employees to receive the vaccine when it’s available to them.

For our employees who wish to receive the vaccine, we support them.

We do not want our employees to have to choose between receiving a vaccine or earning income as an essential worker. So, we are helping to remove barriers by providing employees with a one-time financial-aid payment after receiving a completed COVID-19 vaccination.

When the time comes, our employees don’t have to choose between going to work or getting vaccinated. We agree that the decision to receive the COVID-19 vaccination is a personal choice, and although we are encouraging employees to take it, we are not requiring them to do so.

While the vaccine will assist in slowing the pandemic, at Lewan Logistics, we continue taking the necessary measures to help reduce the spread of COVID-19, by wearing masks or facial coverings, practicing good hygiene, and following proper social distancing. We will continue to stay informed and follow guidance from the CDC regarding continued COVID-19 safety.

Lewan Opens New 35,000 SF San Antonio Warehouse

We are excited to announce the opening of our ninth location in the State of Texas! Lewan Logistics’ new facility in San Antonio will expand Texas operations and provide enhanced overnight service capabilities throughout the State. The 35,000 square foot facility will provide customers, both regional and national, with more comprehensive delivery solutions.

Located at 4502 Macro Drive, San Antonio, TX, the new facility includes a 10-door LTL cross-dock, one drive-in ramp, and warehouse space to meet the rising demand for cross-dock, warehouse, fulfillment and delivery services in the region.
